TBG project summary
Much of the medication currently used is based on natural substances. In this project, we want to characterize the pharmacological potential of natural products that have not yet been investigated. For this purpose, we will use various biochemical and functional test systems to investigate the effect of the natural products on various disease-relevant cellular processes. Promising natural products will be further characterized in more complex test systems. The aim is to select from the multitude of natural products that may be suitable as new drug candidates.
Group expertise / Methods
- Cytotoxicity assays
- Second messenger assays
- Cell barrier assays
